Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and LiLi Cal governing your use of the LiLi Cal application for macOS and the LiLi Cal website. If you do not agree, do not use the App or Site.

2. License

LiLi Cal is currently offered as a free download during its early-access period. Subject to these Terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Macs you own or control. Use through the Mac App Store is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies in addition to these Terms.

3. Pricing and the early-adopter pledge

LiLi Cal is currently free to download from the Mac App Store, with no subscription and no in-app purchase. We intend to make the App a paid download in a future release. Any price is set and displayed by Apple on the Mac App Store.

Early-adopter pledge: if you download LiLi Cal while it is offered free of charge, your licence to use it does not expire when the price changes. The download is recorded against your Apple ID and you continue to receive updates at no additional charge. Only downloads made after the price change are charged.

Redownloading and reinstallation are handled by Apple through your Apple ID purchase history and are outside our control. If you downloaded the App during the free period and are ever asked to pay for it on a Mac you own, contact hello@kopit.app and we will provide access at no charge. Once the App is paid, purchases and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under the App Store's terms.

4. Acceptable use

• Do not resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute the App.
• Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except where the restriction is prohibited by law.
• Do not circumvent or tamper with security or update mechanisms.
• Do not use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

5. System access and third-party data

The App accesses the macOS Calendar and Reminders only with your permission, and displays public-holiday data from third-party sources (holiday-cn, Hong Kong's official feed, Nager.Date, and any iCal / webcal links you add). Those sources are provided by third parties and are subject to their own terms and availability; LiLi Cal does not guarantee their accuracy or uptime.

6. Updates

We may provide updates, bug fixes, and improvements through the Mac App Store or the app's updater. We are not obligated to provide any particular update or to support older versions indefinitely.

7. Intellectual property

The App, Site, and related content, trademarks, and software are owned by LiLi Cal or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Open-source components and data sets are used under their respective licenses.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The App and Site are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind. Calendar calculations, holiday arrangements, and third-party feeds may contain errors; you are responsible for verifying dates that matter and for maintaining your own backups.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LiLi Cal will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for missed events, loss of data, or lost profits arising from your use of the App.

10. Termination

These Terms apply until terminated. Your license terminates automatically if you breach them. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to courts of competent jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be posted here with an updated Last updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
